A measure that would provide resources to grandparents raising their grandchildren has been signed into law by President Trump. The Supporting Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Act, which cleared the Senate unanimously in June, will create a federal task force that will set up a one-stop shop of resources for roughly 2.6 million grandparents in the U.S. who are raising grandchildren. Many of these grandparents have been caring for their grandchildren as a result of the opioid crisis, taking on caregiving roles as their own children work through their addictions and treatments. "With so many parents struggling with addiction, grandparents are increasingly coming to the rescue and assuming this role," said Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, who co-authored the bill. Hillary Clinton wants to run for president again, according to a new report. “Hillary Clinton is up to something,” columnist Michael Goodwin wrote in the New York Post on Saturday. Hillary-watching has been a prime sport of pundits and prognosticators who want to know whether her 2016 defeat at the hands of President Donald Trump is really the final chapter in the decades of political prominence of the Clinton clan. Her recent activity has ramped up speculation that she sees an opportunity in 2020. For example, she will be making a public appearance at the Ozy Fest July 21-22 in New York City, according to Britain’s Daily Mail. In his column, Goodwin pieces together stray bits of Hillary Clinton’s public comments and finds a pattern that he thinks is laying the groundwork f
President Trump has temporarily reshuffled his staff to assist with the confirmation process of his second nominee to the Supreme Court, a week before he plans to reveal his pick to replace retiring Justice Anthony Kennedy. White House press secretary Sarah Sanders announced Monday that her deputy, Raj Shah, plans to take a leave of absence from his current role inside the West Wing press shop to "oversee communications, strategy and messaging coordination with Capitol Hill allies" once Trump announces his nominee. Shah will work closely with White House counsel Don McGahn, who is charged with leading the selection and confirmation process. And Justin Clark, current director of the Office of Public Liaison, will lead outreach initiatives to conservative and grassroots groups that ...
An American-born citizen who federal authorities say recently scouted locations in Cleveland to attack people watching Fourth of July fireworks and talked of carrying out additional bombings has been charged with trying to support terrorism. Federal authorities said Monday that Demetrius Pitts, 48, had repeatedly expressed his support for al-Qaida for more than a year and talked about setting off bombs at a July 4 parade and later in his hometown of Philadelphia. Pitts, of Maple Heights, was due in federal court Monday in Cleveland. There were no court documents listing an attorney for him. He was arrested Sunday after meeting an undercover agent and charged with attempted support of a terrorist organization. FBI Special Agent Stephen Anthony said it was not clear how close Pit...
Two Norwegian lawmakers have nominated President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize for meeting with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un and reaching an agreement to work toward denuclearization of the Korean peninsula. Christian Tybring-Gjedde and Per-Willy Amundsen are members of Norway’s governing Progress Party and nominated the U.S. president the day after the Singapore summit, according to the Norwegian government-owned broadcaster NRK. “What’s going on now is historic,” Per-Willy told NRK, according to Bloomberg. “A process is underway to ensure world peace in the future. It’s a fragile process, but we must of course do what we can to help this process bring good results.” The lawmakers also told Norwegian news agency NTB that Trump “had taken a huge and important ste
White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders is planning to leave the White House at the end of the year, CBS News reported Wednesday, citing sources in the administration. Sanders has reportedly told friends about her plans to depart the Trump administration. Deputy press secretary Raj Shah is also reportedly eyeing a White House exit, but has not yet decided on a departure date. Sanders did not deny the report in a tweet sent roughly an hour after the report was published. "Does @CBSNews know something I don’t about my plans and my future? I was at my daughter’s year-end Kindergarten event and they ran a story about my 'plans to leave the WH' without even talking to me. I love my job and am honored to work for @POTUS," Sanders tweeted. Joy Behar just sunk to a new low on the latest epiѕode of “The View” when she disrespected dying Fox News host Charles Krauthammer in a sick way. The Daily Caller reported that Meghan McCain was paying an emotional tribute to Krauthammer when Behar rudely interrupted her to bash Senate Majority Leader Mitch MсConnell. “His voice has been so important because he’s always so fair to Trump supporters and to the never-Trumpers and to everything in between,” McCain said of Krauthammer. “He wаs always measured, he was never overly emotional and he really understands the pulse of conservatism. I’m sorry. I feel like God’s giving everybody I love in politics cancer, and I just am going to miss him a lot.” McCain was lauding Krauthammer’s faithful capacity to call both sides, saying that i
Hillary Clinton is in full panic mode right now after it was revealed that numerous FBI officials are finally ready to turn on her. Right Wing News reported that House Republicans are about to interview thrеe witnesses about the sham Clinton email investigation. Bill Priestap, the assistant director of the FBI’s counterintelligence division, and Michael Steinbach, the former head of the FBI’s national security division, are both to testify in the coming days. It was Priestap who changed the wording in then-FBI Director James Comey July 2016 speech to remove the word “President” and replace it with “another senior government official” to hide this fact from the American public. The third witness is set to be John Giacalone, who preceded Steinbach as the bureau’s top national security

Polls close in South Carolina at 7 p.m. eastern time, and anti-Trump Rep. and former Governor Mark Sanford (R-SC) is facing a fierce primary challenge from pro-Trump candidate Katie Arrington. Trump endorsed Arrington hours before polls closed, saying Sanford would be “better off in Argentina,” a reference to the time in 2009 when Sanford’s staff claimed Sanford was hiking the “Appalachian trail” when he was actually having an affair with an Argentinian journalist an Argentinian journalist in Buenos Aires.
