This week was loaded with intense moments. Plenty of people will be talking about it. And we all try to make sense of it in the coming weeks.
I think it’s safe to say most Americans just want things to calm down. As we get perspective, maybe things will get better.
But it doesn’t seem that some share that sentiment. And that includes old Nancy Pelosi. The Democrat—who has long held a low opinion of the president—thinks we about to see the end of the world.
So, she just tried to jump over the White House.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said she spoke to Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley about precautions that could block President Trump from “ordering a nuclear strike” or accessing launch codes and starting military hostilities.
“The situation of this unhinged President could not be more dangerous,” Pelosi said in a letter to Democratic lawmakers.
Nancy Pelosi accused Trump of wanting to cause worldwide panic, in ordering a “nuclear strike.”
Citing no evidence or reasoning, she went to the Joint Chiefs of Staff Milley, requiring “precautions” from that happening.
This, of course, is utter nonsense. Trump has been the first president in decades to escalate conflicts overseas. He’s brokered historic peace agreements. And he’s ended conflicts by bringing our soldiers home.
Only Pelosi and D.C. swamp dwellers believe Trump is responsible for what happened on Wednesday. Trump himself called on supporters to stay safe and go home.
But Pelosi, once again, is ratcheting up hysteria and fear by making these demands. She’s not happy that she got the Speakership once again, or that Biden will be president.
Making the claim that Trump, in the final days of his presidency, would order a nuclear strike seems pretty unreasonable. And it ignores the plain fact that Trump—nor any president—can just fire off rockets like it’s the Fourth of July.
Once again, it seems Pelosi doesn’t even understand the very government she claims to be a part of.
