What’s Happening:

Democrats tried to stop the appointment of Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court, but in the end, Republicans quickly got her on the bench.

And in one of the confirmation’s best moments, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas decided he needed to remind America about Biden’s actions during his hearing.

Back then, he was grilled by another group of Democrats. Slow Joe won’t like this:

Justice Thomas on Supreme Court confirmation hearings:

“One of the things you do in hearings is you have to sit there and look attentively at people you know have no idea what they’re talking about.”

A clip from a recent film about Clarence Thomas reveals how he endured his Supreme Court hearings.

Thomas took the time to talk about how Democrats went about questioning him.[contentad widget=”427100″]

He took a shot at then-Senator Joe Biden who rambled on and on about “natural law” in an apparent attempt to goad Thomas.

Thomas hit back by saying he had to sit there and “look attentively” even though Joe Biden was making no sense.

Just a short listen to what Biden was saying would prove Thomas’s point very clearly.

That is just true today as it was back then. Democrats don’t want ACB on the court, but they can’t stop it.

They used their time to drag out the process, go on pointless rabbit trails about policy opinion instead of judicial philosophy, and tried to get her to say something that would make her look bad.

Joe Biden did it back then, and his allies used the same playbook.

Instead of using the time to really learn about the judge, it seems they just wanted to bother and slow down the process.

But in the end, Trump got his justice and a 6-3 majority. And if Biden becomes President, it looks likely that the Senate will continue to be controlled by the Senate and will stop Democrat court-packing dreams.

Are you glad Trump appointed her instead of waiting?

Key Takeaways:

  • Clarence Thomas discussed his experience being questioned by Joe Biden.
  • Democrat senators failed to stop Amy Coney Barrett’s appointment to the Supreme Court.
  • Democrats are unlikely to follow through with court-packing if they cannot win a Senate majority.
