Battles with Democratic Party
He thanked journalists who have released stories relevant to those allegations, on the Michaelangelo Signorile Show.
On “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” Pocan called for an independent commission to investigate Russian interference after he said House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) “stumbled” through the investigative process.
Pocan said that anyone who read the reports he has seen, like Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), would have the “natural reaction” of keeping Russian sanctions, which the Trump administration slackened.
He called for that report to be declassified so the American people can make their own decisions on whether the Trump campaign worked in collusion with Russia.
Pocan pointed to what he called “lying” on the part of Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who did not acknowledge meeting the Russian ambassador at a convention event.
Carlson responded by asking how Russia could change a single American’s vote at the polls.
Such an action must’ve failed in California, Carlson remarked, because Hillary Clinton won the state by 4 million votes.
Carlson added that if Pocan was concerned with the legitimacy of elections, he should be pushing for federal voter identification laws, citing several instances of apparent voter fraud.
Pocan returned to discussing the Russian angle, asking Carlson to join him in his call for the documents he saw to be declassified.
