Oakland’s mayor broke the law in order to protect illegal immigrants living in her city.
As the Press Secretary for the White House, Sarah Huckabee Sanders has revealed, the DOJ is seriously looking into pressing criminal charges for Mayor Libby Schaaf, after she gave a warning to all illegal aliens residing in her city, that there is probably going to be a ICE raid soon.
With this move she tried to “conceal, harbor, or shield” an illegal alien who is breaking the United States law.

chaaf reportedly said that she had no regrets for what she did, when she tipped off illegal immigrants about a raid in the so-called sanctuary city.

Perhaps, rather than worrying about the federal government’s job, she should start worrying about her own city which is rated as one of the most unsafe places in the country.
It is even dangerous to be caught outside past sunset in Oakland, but their mayor is still more concerned about the criminals instead of the victims. The federal government should make an example, so that more politicians don’t follow her way.
It looks like this mayor is forgetting that her salary comes from the people and her job should be to serve them, not put them in harm’s way.
According to a report from Fox News, there are several possible charges for Schaaf’s action. The report states : “The Department of Justice is looking into whether Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf obstructed justice by warning Northern California residents of an impending raid by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
The agency’s acting director, Thomas Homan, told “Fox & Friends” Wednesday morning that the DOJ is “reviewing” whether Schaaf broke any laws by telling her constituents ICE would be raiding the area in order to arrest people violating federal immigration laws.”
The Democratic mayor, shared the warning in a post on her Twitter account. In it, she wrote that she was informed by “multiple credible sources” , that the immigration agency was “preparing to conduct an operation in the Bay Area, including Oakland, starting as soon as” Sunday.
As the agency revealed, after Schaaf’s warning, they arrested more than 150 people “in violation of federal U.S. immigration laws” in the San Francisco Bay Area.
In a statement, Homan said that 864 illegal immigrants and public safety threats “remain at large in the community”, for which he pointed the finger toward Schaaf.
He reportedly said for “Fox and Friends” : “What she did is no better than a gang lookout yelling ‘police’ when a police cruiser comes in the neighborhood, except she did it to a whole community.”
Homan told also said : “There’s over 800 significant public safety threat criminals … that we are unable to locate because of that warning, so that community’s a lot less safe than it would’ve been.”
Mayor Libby Schaaf, backed up her controversial warning, when she shared another tweet that read: “It is Oakland’s legal right to be a sanctuary city and we have not broken any laws. We believe our community is safer when families stay together.”
