What’s Happening:

In recent days, Big Tech companies have taken unprecedented moves to silence conservative voices. It started with Twitter booting Trump off their site. And it moved fast after that.

Even Amazon shut down alternative social network Parler, which was hosted by the tech giant.

Other social networks have tried to purge followers from conservative users or outright shut down their pages.

But it seems like a few Republicans are not taking these attacks lying down. And one leader in Florida is fighting fire with fire.

Randy Fine, a Florida senator, is asking the governor and cabinet to divest the state from big tech companies like Amazon and Google.

He appears to be throwing these companies’ own policies back into their faces. If these Silicon Valley giants refuse to work with conservatives, why can’t conservatives reject working with them as well?

A move like this could jeopardize these companies’ ability to do business in Florida. It might cost them tax breaks and other lucrative deals with the state.

They will still be able to do business with citizens, just to cash in on agreements with Florida’s government.

Word has not yet come out if Florida’s governor agreed to this request. But it wouldn’t be a surprise if the state government did move in response to what Big Tech is trying to do.

It might even start a trend among Republican states. Don’t be surprised to learn of other state lawmakers and leaders taking action over this wave of censorship.
