Healthy, but delicious desserts are like a myth these days, so the recipe we are suggesting today might surprise many.

This chocolate avocado pudding is extremely delicious and offers numerous health benefits. Namely, avocados have potent healthy compounds, like boosting metabolism, regulating hormones, and fighting diseases.

Avocados are high in plant sterols, like beta-sitosterol, that have powerful antiestrogenic properties. They inhibit the estrogen receptors in cells and lower estrogen absorption rates, resulting in higher progesterone levels in women and testosterone levels in men.

Both the flesh and the oil of avocados also have strong anti-aging properties that prevent free radical damage.

Avocados penetrate deeply inside the cell structures, enter the mitochondria and stimulate the production of energy, helping the function of the cells even if attacked by free radicals.

The mitochondria are extremely important in the struggle against free radicals. They are the central components of cells that produce most of the cell’s energy from nutrients.

However, they also generate unstable chemicals that cause damage to both the mitochondria itself and other cellular components.

The damage that is thus caused directly affects aging, and scientists have been trying so hard to find a remedy to reverse it, and they found it in avocado oil!

According to the lead study design author, Dr. Christian Cortez-Rojo, “avocado oil causes accelerated respiration in mitochondria, which indicates that the use of nutrients for producing energy for cell functions remains effective even in cells attacked by free radicals and that mitochondria can produce little amounts of damaging free radicals.”

Avocados are also extremely high in healthy raw fat and about 20 essential nutrients:

  • Boron
  • B-vitamins
  • Calcium
  • Folic acid
  • Fiber
  • Iron
  • Magnesium
  • Potassium (twice the amount found in a banana)
  • Vitamin E
  • Sodium

These fruits improve the ability of the body to absorb fat-soluble nutrients from other fruits and vegetables, like alpha and beta-carotene and lutein. Avocados have potent antibacterial and antifungal properties that strengthen the immune system.

They are also rich in the amino acid lecithin, which boosts the function of the brain, prevents liver overload, and balances weight.
