MS-13 gang Fox News host Tucker Carlson made the argument Thursday night that the MS-13 criminal gang that has wreaked havoc on inner cities across the country poses “a far greater threat” to Americans than the Islamic State terrorist group. Speaking on his eponymous TV news program, Mr. Carlson said the ISIS-inspired terrorist attacks in Orlando, San Bernardino and Chattanooga led to the deaths of 68 people, but that is “nothing compared” to the murders carried out by MS-13 members. “That organization, a mostly immigrant street gang, is a far greater threat to your life than ISIS is. It’s the numbers,” he said in a clip posted by Breitbart. [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rarJc4vlPxM[/embed] Mr. Carlson mentioned several MS-13-related murders in New York
Gas Attack A Republican congressman is skeptical of the Trump administration's conclusion that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad carried out a chemical attack against his own people. Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) told Tucker Carlson that he remains unconvinced that Assad was behind the attack, calling on the White House to put forth more evidence. "Truth is the first casualty of war," he said, adding that the U.S., Russia and Syria will all have their own versions of what happened. "And then there's gonna be the truth in there. We haven't been provided the details," he added. Earlier this week, Defense Secretary James Mattis said "there is no doubt" that Assad’s regime is responsible for the chemical attack. Economist Ray Keating was one of nearly 1,500 economists who signed a letter to President Trump and congressional leaders saying immigration is good for the U.S. economy. The letter argues that immigrants have a positive effect on job creation by creating entrepreneurs who hire American workers, they offset the retirement of the Baby Boomer population, they bring in diverse skill sets that help companies grow, and they drive economic growth in job-creating industries like science and technology. Tucker Carlson debated Keating on Fox News Channel tonight, accusing him of making a "silly" assumption: that all immigrants are the same. Us forces have dropped what is known as the "mother of all bombs" in Afghanistan. The device is the largest non-nuclear device in the Air Force arsenal, Fox News' Jennifer Griffin reported. It was dropped in Nangarhar Province, an eastern area near the Pakistan border. It's the first time the 21,000-pound ordnance has been used in combat, said Griffin. The device, developed in 2003 by the U.S. Air Force, is called the M.O.A.B, short for Massive Ordnance Air Blast. It's often referred to as the "mother of all bombs." The attack was launched in an area where a U.S. Green Beret was killed Saturday by small-arms fire while operating against ISIS targets. us forces [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CcpZGaEsFe0[/embed] U.S. forces have dropped what is known as the "m
One week after debating Tucker Carlson on the merits of his city's sanctuary policy, Mayor Virgil Bernero (D-Lansing) returned to break some news on that front. Bernero said that after "democracy in action," he and his city council are reconsidering their decision to become a sanctuary for illegal immigrants. The council was meeting on the issue as Bernero spoke on "Tucker Carlson Tonight." [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JDbnKtViGcI[/embed] However, he said that his initial policy was not an example of the liberal sanctuary city policies created by some other municipalities. He said there is no evidence that Michigan's capital is "opening the floodgates" to illegal immigrants as some have characterized. Bernero said he agreed with President Trump's campaign pr...
Tucker Carlson debated a Democratic congressman over the merits of President Trump's missile strike against a Syrian airfield. Congressman Seth Moulton (D-Mass.), a former Marine Corps officer, said he agreed with Trump's action in response to a gas attack on Syrian civilians. However, he said Congress should still investigate whether Trump is working in some level of coordination with the Russians. Moulton acknowledged that by striking back against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, Trump was effectively working against the Russians. But he noted the U.S. military got the Kremlin's forces out of the base before the strike. He said that some people could see such a move as an "elaborate ruse" to relieve pressure from Democrats over his alleged Russian ties. "Wher...
A Florida sheriff's stern message to drug dealers is going viral after the release of a video featuring undercover officers wearing ski masks. "To the dealers that are pushing this poison, I have a message for you: we’re coming for you," said Lake County Sheriff Peyton Grinnell. Grinnell said his office is receiving more and more calls about heroin-related overdoses, urging residents to call in tips about suspected drug dealers. Speaking to the dealers in the county, he said undercover officers have already bought drugs from some of them and arrest warrants were being finalized. The video has generated some backlash on social media, with critics comparing it to ISIS and arguing that it points to police departments becoming too militarized. Let us know your thoughts
LGBT Students Columbia University recently passed a proposal to designate space in the student center as exclusively for minority and LGBT students. The Columbia College Student Council and Engineering Student Council unanimously passed the proposal, which said the designated space is necessary due to the heightened risk of mental health crises faced by marginalized communities. Columbia has not yet disclosed whether it will comply with the students’ requests for “resources that could accommodate computers” and a “mounted television.” “Taking care of our LGBTQ students and students of color and figuring out better ways to do that is always on the minds of student leadership and the Student Affairs Committee,” Student Affairs Committee Co-Chair Sean Ryan said. “In this part
Missiles to Syria The United States launched 59 cruise missiles against a military airfield in Syria following a chemical weapons attack Tuesday that left nearly 70 dead. It is the first direct American assault on the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad since that country’s civil war began six years ago. Fox News' Jennifer Griffin reported that the Tomahawk missile strikes were fired from warships in the Mediterranean Sea. They destroyed portions of the military infrastructure of the Assad government, which U.S. officials are confident is behind the chemical attack. The target was reportedly an airbase at Shayrat, located outside Homs. Griffin reported that two warships based in the eastern Mediterranean, the USS Porter and the USS Ross, have been
Sanctuary City ... Mayor Virgil Bernero (D) of Lansing, Michigan debated Tucker Carlson on the legitimacy of Attorney General Jeff Sessions' plan to withhold federal funds from cities that won't enforce federal immigration law. Carlson reported that despite Sessions' warnings, Lansing voted to become a sanctuary city, and he asked Bernero when it was OK to defy any federal law in such a way. Bernero said that it is never proper to do so, and added that his executive order on the topic abides by federal law. He invited Sessions and President Trump to advise him anytime on how to increase public safety in Lansing, but said he would never "federalize" his police force to become an immigration enforcer. Bernero said he values the "community policing" aspect in Lansing and ...
