Republican Burgess Owens, a Trump supporter who spoke at the 2020 RNC convention, has successfully defeated Democrat incumbent Ben McAdams in Utah’s 4th Congressional District House Race.

AP made the official call Monday, announcing “REAKING: Republican Burgess Owens wins election to U.S. House in Utah’s 4th Congressional District, beating incumbent Rep. Ben McAdams. #APracecall at 4:03 p.m. MST. #Election2020 #UTelection”

McAdams has conceded and told reporters “To[contentad widget=”427100″]day, I called Burgess Owens to congratulate him on winning this hard-fought and close race.”

He added “My campaign was centered around a rejection of extremism and the need for leaders that will put the needs of the people they represent before any political party. I’m deeply humbled by the support I received from so many Utahns who shared that vision and want you to know that while we did not prevail, I remain committed to that ideal.”

Owens tweeted “I received a call from @BenMcAdams he expressed appreciation for the opportunity to serve #UT04 and his commitment to a smooth transition. My sincere thanks to him for both. Thank you my fellow Utahns, I am committed to have an open ear to serve you. Thank you for the opportunity”

Vernon Jones tweeted “Go get’em @BurgessOwens. You did it the old fashion way, you earned it. And thanks to  @realDonaldTrump for picking another winner! ”
