What’s Happening:

The events of January 6 delayed Congress’s attempt to vote on the electoral college results. In the wee hours of Thursday morning, Congress finally voted to accept the results of the election.

With everything Trump has said criticizing the results from several states, many wondered what his response would be.

After all, Democrats had for years claimed Trump would never give up his power.

And, although he refused to concede, he made his plans clear.

President Donald Trump released a statement during the early morning hours on Thursday committing to the peaceful transition of power after Congress formally certified Democrat Joe Biden’s Electoral College victory, officially making him President-elect of the United States…

“Even though I totally disagree with the outcome of the election, and the facts bear me out, nevertheless there will be an orderly transition on January 20th,” Trump said in a statement. “I have always said we would continue our fight to ensure that only legal votes were counted. While this represents the end of the greatest first term in presidential history, it’s only the beginning of our fight to Make America Great Again!”

Much to the disappointment of his millions of supporters, Trump revealed he would submit to an orderly transition on January 20th.

In his statement, he vowed to continue to fight for fair and legal votes will be counted in our elections, although he did not elaborate on how.

He also promised it was “only the beginning” of his fight to Make America Great Again.

Such words might convince voters that Trump will announce a bid for re-election in the 2024 Election. Or, perhaps, he will continue to be a vocal figure in politics, lending his support for future conservative candidates.

Regardless of the specifics, Trump is making it clear that his work for America is far from over.

The fallout of this election has not yet been felt. There are millions of Americans who believe the election was tainted. Will they be willing to get behind Joe Biden and his administration?

Considering the last four years, that might not be likely. MAGA country just might bide its time until 2024.
