What’s Happening:
Joe Biden claimed he wanted to be a president for all of America. Not just the left.
If that is true, why is he working so quickly to dismantle every good thing Trump did?
He wants to end the Keystone XL pipeline. He wants to hamper fossil fuel production. And he wants to rejoin the Paris Climate Accords.
And after just a few hours in office, he rolled back a major patriotic initiative Trump started. From CNN:
Joe Biden will issue an executive order to dissolve the 1776 commission…
The commission had been formed as an apparent counter to The New York Times’ 1619 Project… aimed at teaching American students about slavery that Trump, speaking last fall, had called “toxic propaganda.”
Commission members also took aim at feminists and the widespread use of ethnic and racial identities in American life, arguing that they had been constructed by “activists.”
President Trump formed a commission to oppose an attempt by leftist activists to rewrite American history in our schools.
The 1776 Commission was created to counter a move by the New York Times that sought to undermine students’ faith in our country.
The 1619 project was accused by the commission of spreading activist propaganda, including feminist ideas and the use of identity politics.
We shouldn’t be surprised that Biden, a man who appears to be under the influence of the left, would shut down the 1776 commission.
Twenty years ago, Biden probably would have supported the 1776 Commission, but nowadays, the far left seems to be controlling the conversation.
The ultimate goal of the commission was to inspire more patriotism among students, so they would respect this country.
What does it say about Democrats that they would want to undermine such a goal? Do they want students to despise the very country they are growing up in?
