Rape – Tucker Carlson – David Moyse
Tucker Carlson pressed the defense attorney for an illegal immigrant who is accused in the rape of a 14-year-old Maryland girl in a boys’ bathroom at Rockville High School.
Two teenage boys, 18 and 17, are accused in the rape. One of the two, 18-year-old Henry Sanchez-Milian, is an undocumented immigrant.
His attorney, David Moyse, confirmed that he plans to argue the sexual encounter was consensual, “not a rape in any sense.”
Carlson said the assertion sounds “insane.” Moyse agreed that it seems “horrible” that it would happen in a school, but that doesn’t mean it was “forced” or illegal.
Carlson said that is “in effect, an attack on this girl who told authorities that she was raped.”
“Is your argument going to be that she invited sex with two men in a bathroom at a high school in the middle of the day and then lied that it was rape?” he asked.
Moyse said he cannot discuss the details, but that he believes more evidence will come out beyond “the initial sensational headlines.”
“We have a system here. When people are accused, we go through the system,” said Moyse, adding that he doesn’t know his client personally.
Carlson told Moyse “you really better, before God, be sure about” the defense strategy of going after the accuser, noting that police said other students heard screams from the bathroom.
Moyse disputed Carlson’s characterization that he was “trashing” the female accuser.
In a follow-up on “Fox & Friends” this morning, Carlson said the attorney is in a “tough spot” and emphasized that all accused suspects have the right to legal defense.
“There is a human and moral element to this. … But I think it’s fair to ask the person representing him, ‘do you feel good about it?'” he explained.
Meantime, a leading U.S. senator is demanding to know why the accused teenager from Central America was allowed to enter and remain in the U.S. since crossing the border illegally months ago.
The superintendent in the school district has also come under criticism for accusing some parents of displaying “racism and xenophobia” in their responses.
