Republican Janet Nguyen has defeated Democrat Diedre Nguyen in the 72nd Assembly District, keeping the open seat under GOP control.
Janet Nguyen reacted to her win Thursday by saying “I’m extremely humbled and honored that the voters of the 72nd Assembly District have trusted me to be their voice in Sacramento.”
She added “Now that the campaign is behind us, I am ready to get to work immediately on behalf of the residents of our district.””
Loser Deidre Ngyuen conceded and said “The campaign is over. But people’s need for better healthcare, economic relief and truth and integrity from elected leaders continues.”
She added “I’ll keep working o[contentad widget=”427100″]n those things in Garden Grove.”
Janet Nguyen’s winning margin was roughly 8%.
