Isn’t it funny how often we find Democrats doing the exact opposite of what they demand we do?
Well, I guess it isn’t funny. More like infuriating.
One Democrat from Hawaii has, for a long time, fought for stricter punishments against drunken drivers.
She even bragged on her website that one of her “greatest accomplishments” was getting a new DUI law passed.
But, it seems like she didn’t think those laws—and punishments—would apply to her. Because she just got busted.

Hawaii Democratic state Rep. Sharon Har, a longtime crusader for harsher punishments for drunken drivers, found herself in handcuffs late last month for allegedly driving under the influence in Honolulu, as seen in newly released police bodycam video…
She was accused of driving under the influence the wrong way down a one-way street, the Honolulu Star-Advertiser reported.
And here’s the bodycam footage from her arrest. It’s pretty amazing what she says in her state:
Wow, this is incredible. Har pushed for harder punishments against drunk drivers, because she once was in a car crash.
Then why was she busted recently for driving under the influence herself? According to the report, she was driving the wrong way down a one-way street.
That’s pretty bad, to say the least. She could have hit someone driving down the right way, and could not avoid her car.
Why did this Democrat break the very rules she fought to enforce? Did she ever really care about making the streets safer—or pinning a win on her record?
Getting DUI laws passed isn’t the hardest thing in the world. Nobody is against preventing drunk driving.
Could it be that Har got behind this cause, using her own accident for emotional leverage, just so she could brag about a win?
That’s what people will be saying after this episode. After all, how can someone claim to be a champion for safer roads—when they themselves are caught drunk driving?
If I were a Republican in her district, I might be getting a campaign ready right about now.
