What’s Happening:
For years, Americans have waited for John Durham’s investigation to produce results. President Trump made him a special counsel, to ensure the work continued into the future.
But without any updates, how do we know anything is happening? Will justice ever be served?
Only one man has thus far been indicted, an FBI lawyer named Kevin Clinesmith. He pled guilty to altering a document used to acquire FISA warrants against Trump’s 2016 campaign.
Now it seems the man has finally been sentenced.
From Fox News:
Former FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith was sentenced to 12 months probation and 400 hours of community service Friday after pleading guilty to making a false statement in the first criminal case arising from Special Counsel John Durham’s investigation into the origins of the Trump-Russia probe.
Clinesmith has been sentenced to 12 months probation and 400 hours of community service. That is definitely not the results millions of Americans have been waiting for.
This investigation was to uncover how Obama’s FBI and other deep state actors tried to undermine the 2016 Election. Plenty of dirt and smoke have been revealed over the years. Yet few people have been indicted.
And the only person who has got essentially a slap on the wrist?
This sentence might carry more weight than it seems. Being indicted by the DOJ and forced to plead guilty does not look good on anyone’s resume.
Clinesmith might not be able to find work, in the future. He might even face disbarment.
But most will agree that he was a small player in a large investigation. Will we see anything else developed?
Keep in mind, this lawyer was exposed and indicted under Trump’s administration. It is a longshot at best if anyone is caught while Sleepy Joe is in office.
Do you think those involved will ever be brought to justice?
