CNN Engaged In ‘Campaign Violation,” Trump Says Of Project Veritas Video

CNN engaged in a ‘massive campaign violation,’ Donald Trump said, after one of the network’s producers was caught bragging about the network being opposed to Trump winning the 2020 presidential election.

The 45^th President of the United States spoke to Fox News host Sean Hannity in an interview that aired on Friday and discussed the Project Veritas video that showed what CNN technical director Charlie Chester said to, who he thought was, a date, The Daily Mail reported.

“That is a campaign violation. What they are doing is a massive campaign violation. When you look at what they did,” Trump said.

The video by the investigative reporting group Project Veritas, purports to show a CNN director saying that the network engages in propaganda and was determined to get Donald Trump out of the White House.

“Look what we did, we [CNN] got Trump out. I am 100% going to say it, and I 100% believe that if it wasn’t for CNN, I don’t know that Trump would have got voted out…I came to CNN because I wanted to be a part of that,” CNN Technical Director Charlie Chester said in the video.

And he explained how they did it by highlighting the health of both men, Trump and Joe Biden.

“[Trump’s] hand was shaking or whatever, I think. We brought in so many medical people to tell a story that was all speculation — that he was neurologically damaged, and he was losing it. He’s unfit to — you know, whatever. We were creating a story there that we didn’t know anything about. That’s what — I think that’s propaganda,” Chester said.

“We would always show shots of him [Biden] jogging and that [he’s] healthy, you know, and him in aviator shades. Like you paint him as a young geriatric,” he said.

But Trump saved his real fury for social media companies, like the ones who have banned him from their platforms.

“I’m getting the word out because we are doing [press] releases,” he said. “Every time I do a release, it’s all over the place. It is better than Twitter. Much more elegant than Twitter and Twitter is really boring.”

“When I started with Twitter years ago, it was like a fail concept, a platform, fail. And it became exciting. And I think I had a lot to do with it to be honest with you, it became exciting. Now it is boring. It is no good anymore,” Trump said.

Trump, who has been at war with social media companies since he was removed from their platforms following the January Capitol riot, called for more regulation of their operations.

He said they were biased towards Democrats, and needed more scrutiny. 

“They have to be strong and can’t be dominated by Amazon, Google and people that could take them off the air right away,” Trump said.

“You do need antitrust. You have to do something about it,” he said. “With all of the things you said, look, the Democrats lie, cheat and steal. They are vicious.”

And almost as if to prove its bias, Twitter suspended the account of Project Veritas president James O’Keefe after he published the video of the CNN technical director.

“The account you referenced (@JamesOKeefeIII) was permanently suspended for violating the Twitter Rules on manipulation and spam,” it said.

“As outlined in our policy on platform manipulation and spam, ‘You can’t mislead others on Twitter by operating fake accounts,’ and ‘you can’t artificially amplify or disrupt conversations through the use of multiple accounts,’” it said.

O’Keefe said he would be suing Twitter for suspending him.

“I am suing Twitter for defamation because they said I, James O’Keefe, ‘operated fake accounts,’” he said.

“This is false, this is defamatory, and they will pay. Section 230 may have protected them before, but it will not protect them from me,” he said.

Trump responded with:
“There is strength in unity and America is a great example of it to the countries across the world. In the need of the hour, each patriot has sacrificed their needs to help out a fellow citizen.”

However, hope can be lost in the darkest times, and the American people need something to unify them in such times of adversity. The fight is not over yet, says President Trump.
